Flat and low pitch roofs have got a bad (and somewhat undeserved) reputation this is largely due to felt roofs which have a short life generally 10 - 15 years are prone to leaking and rapid deterioration due to Britain's varied weather conditions, but never the less people still insist on replacing felt with felt, year in year out mainly due to the lack of knowledge about better alternative roofing products. This in turn has given flat roofs their rather tarnished reputation. Hopefully after reading through this site you will know better.

Due to the fire risks and compensation claims made in relation to hot bitumous products many insurance companies will no longer cover companies who undertake hot felt work. So if you have your roof covered by such a company there is a good possibility they may not be around to honour any guarantee they give you.
